Linkage to Care sets the stage for Video DOT by helping members fulfill three critical prerequisites to medication adherence: Visiting the provider, getting prescribed medication, and ensuring regular labs and tests are completed. Health coaches and nurses help remove barriers, ensuring members have the necessary resources and support to stay on track with their medication throughout the year - before, during, and after video DOT.

Scene’s care team closes the loop on medication management between member, provider, and plan by providing the member with a personalized medication review from a Scene pharmacist. Key recommendations are shared with both members & providers, while nurse-led provider engagement continues throughout the program.

For 2-3 months, members share daily videos with a nurse, who offers personalized support on medication adherence and celebrates progress. This async video coaching builds trust while being efficient, needing just 1 minute a day, versus 15-20 minutes for standard telehealth appointments.
*Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) is a CDC-endorsed strategy in which a healthcare worker observes every dose of medication taken to ensure adherence. In 2023 the CDC recommended that video DOT is as effective as in-person DOT at achieving observed doses, citing numerous validation studies.
