Meet the team

Sebastian is the CEO and co-founder of Scene (previously emocha), a medication engagement company that provides personalized, breakthrough medication support by combining video technology, clinical coaching, and validated interventions to radically improve medication adherence rates. In 2014, Sebastian spun Scene out of Johns Hopkins with Dr. Bob Bollinger and other medication adherence experts to help communities served by public health departments, health plans including Medicaid and Medicare, and health systems. Scene is now the standard of care for infectious disease adherence monitoring and is scaling quickly. Sebastian started his career as an attorney with Allen & Overy in London before launching his first company in Munich, Germany, in 2000. He earned his law degree from Columbia Law School and his MBA in Health Care from Johns Hopkins University.

Morad is responsible for business development and new partnership efforts. Prior to Scene, he managed a legislative portfolio of domestic and international issues for several years in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Amanda leads a team of product and brand designers at Scene who shape the end-to-end experience for patients, providers, and customers. Previously she worked at a global design firm and also served as Creative Director of the Johns Hopkins Social Innovation Lab where she helped craft the creative vision and business strategy for early stage startups. She holds a MA in Social Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has 10 years of experience in human-centered design.

Jon is the Chief Financial Officer at Scene, where he manages Scene’s financial strategies and accounting functions. With nearly two decades of experience spanning finance, accounting, strategic planning, and M&A, Jon has a strong track record of driving significant revenue growth and operational efficiency for private equity-backed companies. Jon holds a BS in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

Tom is responsible for overall company operational performance and outcomes at Scene. Tom spent the first portion of his career as a corporate/private equity lawyer at Hogan Lovells in Washington D.C. He then spent 20+ years in senior management roles for fast-paced growth platform companies in digital video and new media advertising. Tom is now focused on accelerating growth and scaling Scene’s pioneering video-based digital health engagement program.

Jorge Aquino is the Vice President of Life Sciences Business Development for Scene Health, a premier Medication Adherence platform helping the pharmaceutical industry increase patient adherence to clinical trial protocols, reducing clinical trial site burden and supporting successful, cost-efficient clinical trials.

Mr. Aquino brings over 20 years experience in the healthcare space. He serves on the Advisory Board of New Enterprise Ventures and prior to joining Scene Health he led innovation activities as the Senior Director of the IQVIA Innovation Hub. Mr. Aquino, built his healthcare experience with Ascentage Biopharma, Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, Canon Biomedical, and Emergent BioSolutions.

Mr. Aquino received his BS in Biological Sciences from University of Maryland, MS from Johns Hopkins University in Biotechnology, and MBA from Loyola University of Maryland.

Michael leads software development and delivery at Scene, working with mobile, web, and backend services. Prior to joining Scene, Michael was the lead developer and advisor to companies in Hexcite, an early-stage pre-accelerator program specializing in medical software at the Johns Hopkins Technology Innovation Center. He was also previously Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of a password management company that was accepted into the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator program.

Will is responsible for managing health plan engagement and growth strategies at Scene. Prior to joining Scene, Will worked at UnitedHealthcare and Optum where he held a variety of roles supporting Stars, provider engagement strategy, operations, and quality. Most recently, Will was the Director of Strategic Partnerships for United's Medicaid line of business. Will has over 20 years of experience in healthcare, he holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida in Health Service Administration and is currently completing his Masters in Health Law at Nova Southeastern University.

Lindsay leads Scene’s program and clinical operations to ensure we provide efficient, human-centered and equitable health services. She has 15 years of experience in global and domestic healthcare innovation, program design and implementation, and capacity-building. Prior to joining Scene, Lindsay served as Senior Innovations Officer at Jhpiego - a nonprofit affiliate of Johns Hopkins - and is a returned Peace Corps volunteer.

LeeAnn leads a care team of pharmacists, nurses, and heath coaches at Scene who engage with members to improve health outcomes. She has Bachelor's degrees in Nursing and Genetics as well as a Master's degree in Global Disease Epidemiology. LeeAnn has been working in fields related to health and healthcare for almost 20 years including time at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the University of Texas Medical School, the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, and the City of Austin. She is passionate about creating healthcare experiences that are positive and informative for patients.

Raj and Kamla Gupta Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins University, with joint appointments in International Health and Community Public Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and the School of Nursing. As Founding Director of the Center for Clinical Global Health Education, Dr. Bollinger is considered a world-renowned adherence expert in chronic and infectious diseases. Dr. Bollinger's clinical research interests include improving the health of resource-limited communities through leadership training and education, having established health research and programs in countries throughout Africa, South and Central America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Dr. Bob Bollinger is also a founder of [Scene] (formerly known as emocha) which spun out of Johns Hopkins in 2014. Bob and his team of researchers designed the initial emocha program for launch with HIV patients in Uganda in 2008, subsequently deploying the platform for patients with infectious diseases in Africa, India, and South America.

Larry William Chang, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology, and International Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Community and Global Health in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Chang is an infectious diseases specialist at the Johns Hopkins Bartlett Specialty Practice and on the Polk service, a multidisciplinary HIV and infectious diseases inpatient unit. Dr. Chang’s research focuses on implementation science, including leveraging community health workers, applied epidemiology, and mobile technologies, to improve treatment and prevention for HIV and other diseases in settings ranging from Uganda to Baltimore.

Prior to his current role as Senior Product Manager, Apps & Analytics at Digital Science, Aaron headed up health informatics at Scene Health. Aaron currently helps R&D stakeholders gain scientific insights into their research landscapes through data analysis, visualizations, and predictive analytics. In previous roles, Aaron worked at academic medical centers, such as Temple University and Johns Hopkins, to utilize the clinical data in their electronic health records in order to conduct retrospective comparative-effectiveness studies that assessed the efficacy of competing therapies across disparate populations.

Kathy Harris is a seasoned leader in finance, investment management, and corporate growth, with a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, venture and growth investments, and digital health. She serves on the Board of Directors for Kindbody and Scene Health, and chairs the Audit Committee at Kindbody. Kathy's significant contributions include raising over $350M in capital and leading strategic acquisitions, demonstrating her financial expertise and leadership capabilities.
